Berlin is going for 100% renewable!
The amazing people of Berlin has done something amazing! They have voted to buy back their grid and go 100 percent renewable - completely overthrowing Swedish bad guys Vattenfall (yep, the James Bond-evil company), who has greatly overstated the value of the city's power grid to stop the work for sustainable energy in the city.
This is a magic example of democracy, good people and why the bad company allways looses.

Nokia: Being sustainable
Nokia has been doing great work for the environement during quite some time - and they do deserve a big cheer for that.
They've been, among other things, named "The worlds most sustainable technology company" by Dow Jones, as well as performing very well on the Greenpeace Greener Electronics list.
Keep it up! You heroes from Finland!

The Guide to Greener Electronics
Greenpeace keeps doing great stuff all over, and this is something in our taste. The Guide to Greener Electronics is a very exact way to measure which company is good, and which is not.
The rule following should be simple, don't shop from the ones performing bad.
Make sure you have a look at the Guide right herrrrre!
And a big cheer for Wipro, on top of the list!

Go Hawaii! Go electric cars!
Time for another one of those Good Country Wins-posts!
Hawaii, who pretty mutch need to learn how to live without petroleum, being a super isolated island and all, is making the right steps!
Cool company Better Place is opening 130 charge-spots for electric cars in Hawaii, and they're offering free membership during 2012! A sweet deal indeed!

Ikea and the solar panels
It has only happened in one store yet - but let's pray it happens globaly soon: Ikea is announcing their plans to sell solar photovoltaic panels!
A cheap, quick way for consumers to easily turn their homes in to environment-friendly places fueled by sustainable energy? Sounds like utopia to us.
Read more about it here!
And why not ask your local IKEA if they plan on selling solar panels anytime soon? Would be a great way of making them understand that the good company wins!

Take action: Clean up the cloud!
Grrrrrreenpeace is doing this great thing where they urge us (yeah, you and me!) to take action. One of their best campaigns to date is the Clean Up The Cloud-one.
Yup, the INTERNET is mostly powered by coal-based energy. And coal is the worst of the worst when it comes to making the Earth burn up. So, as GP puts it: The tech industry is led by a few very large companies who can choose to quit the coal habit.
Join us in asking the CEO'S of Microsoft, Amazon and Apple to clean up the cloud! Do it here.

Apple and the solar arrays
Apple might not be allthrough awesome when it comes to environemental responsibility - BUT!
The fact that they're building "what will be the nation’s largest private solar arrays and the largest non-utility fuel cell installation operating anywhere in the country" to fuel their data center in Maiden, North Carolina deserves a big yay!
And a happy post about it! Read more here!
Hopefully this is the first step towards a tomorrow where Apple uses only clean energy. Right?
Anyways, the Good Company Wins!

This is Good Company Wins
The world is turning in to Mars pretty quickly, as we use stupid stuff like coal and oil to fuel our way of life.
That's super stupid, since there are loads of possibilities for us to live in a way that doesn't end up in environemental catastrophy.
Voting for the good guys is one way of ensuring we wont all die due to global warming. Another way is making sure that companies, small and big ones, make smart decisions when choosing their energy.
Clean energy and transportation might cost a little more in the short run, but is really smart in the long run.
This blog is basically us (a couple of happy Swedes) trying to encourage companies to make smart choices when it comes to the environement. Showing them that if you do something that's good for the environement, we're there on the sidelines cheering.
Hopefully, enough cheering will show other companies/countries/people that making the right choice for the environment does not only save the life of everyone, but gets you good stuff like new customers and good pr.
Let's make sure the Good Company Wins!
